Bachelor of Nautical Science
In cooperation with the University of Technology, Business and Design Wismar, the European Cruise Academy offers a Bachelor programme in Nautical Sciences. Besides the Bachelor of Science Degree, Graduates receive the nautical certificate of competency.
Charted course
Nautical officers are the right hand of the captain and bear a part of the responsibility in the context of safety and security of cruise vessels. During watch-duties on the bridge you will be responsible for navigating and maneuvering the ship, operating the technical equipment as well as ensure the general vessel security.
Structure and Content
The nautical bachelor programme focuses on fundamentals in mathematics, information technology, physics and first nautical knowledge in the first year of studies. The second part is designed to enhance extra proficiency in the fields of commanding a ship, navigation, ship security, ship loading and, for that matter, detailed knowledge concerning the cruise industry. You can exercise your applied knowledge during the application-oriented trainings on board a ship.

Career Prospects
After graduation with this Bachelor Degree, you are able to follow a career path up to the security officer and captains level idealy in combination with a Masters Programme.
