The European Cruise Academy will offer advanced training courses starting as of September 2008. The courses seek to impart knowledge in specific areas of advanced cruise ship operation and management.

The courses will be offered at different times during the year as attendance courses which in general have a length of 6 weeks. A final examination will be conducted and upon successful completion a certificate issued.

With this model we offer an attractive opportunity for individual knowledge enhancement. Seagoing officers and engineers can attend the courses during vacation periods within a regular rotation planning. It is also possible to visit several consecutive courses without a break. The courses qualify for recognition within the Master’s programme “International Cruise Ship Management”. If the academic degree Master (M.Sc.) is the objective and the conditions are fulfilled, it is possible to officially register as a student to prepare the Master thesis only.
The European Cruise Academy will charge attendance fees in a range from EUR 1,200 to EUR 1,700 per course, depending on their extent. They cover the lectures and administrative services. If a Master's degree is aspired, there will be additional costs to cover the supervision of the thesis.
