This training course delivers an indepth knowledge of the relevant management and quality assurance systems for operating modern cruise ships. The participant will gather expertise in working with the various management systems on board a modern cruise ship, their content, main processes, objectives and key performance indicators, and as well with their development and perspectives. He will gain a profound knowledge of the underlying regulations and standards and how they are effectively integrated in a process oriented environment. He will learn how complex systems interrelate in day to day operation. As a secondary goal the participant will have a better understanding of quality management and quality approach.

The course has been developed for officers, engineers, superintendents and managers who already have first experience in the operation of ships and who are interested in learning more about the specific management systems on cruise ships taking into account their complexity. It is beneficial to hold at least an undergraduate degree or alternative proof of an academic level. A good command in English language is required.
For the participation in Course A, the European Cruise Academy will charge an attendance fee amounting to EUR 1,500. It covers the lectures and administrative services.
The course is realized on-campus: lectures are conducted in Rostock-Warnemünde (Germany), in our seminar rooms provided next to the Department of Maritime Studies.
